This course will enable an individual to acquire the knowledge and skills to identify and use the appropriate cleaning chemicals for different cleaning purposes, and how to respond to contingencies relating to the use of cleaning chemicals.

- Able to read, speak and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) Literacy Level 2
- Able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to the ESS Numeracy Level 2

Course Content
By the end of the course, learners will be able to:
LO1. Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals
LO2. Prepare appropriate types and quantities of cleaning chemicals for different cleaning activities
LO3. Apply cleaning chemicals in their cleaning operations in accordance with organisational procedures and guidelines
LO4. Conduct chemical replenishment and storage in preparation for the next cleaning cycle
LO5. Report to the supervisor or person-in-charge when work cannot be carried out and/or incidents occur
LO6. Handle incidents related to the inappropriate use of cleaning chemicals
